The few people that stayed up had fallen asleep on the benches. The sudden loneliness had drawn me closer to the fire. Its warmth stretched out and comforted me against the cooling night. As the shadows played across the trees and cabins, where most of the kids had retired for the night, I had been lost in thought and gazed at the fire. Perhaps a bonfire of dreams. But you know, I didn’t bring a flame with me. I think I just stopped by to warm myself by the fire. I have always been confident in myself and abilities, even when I was little. I was able to win any “battle” I fought, just like now. But that doesn’t mean anything. They say I was possessed that day.
I had tacked my ship nicely but carelessly slipped off the back and slid into the cold sea (pond). As I went down however I grabbed onto the sail and held her steady to keep the wind in her. Being dragged haplessly behind the 1st mate lounged at me to pull me aloft, but I responded to his courage and obligation to save the captain with "Get back to your post you scurvy ridden bilge rat!" As we came close to the shore I kicked the rudder, spun her around and climbed aboard once more. We raced to the other side trying to make way against the torrents of wind when I misjudged the lay of the sand bar and our keel caught hold and once more I left the ship in a flurry of flailing arms and blasphemous language. The first mate had flown into the mast and was still dazed when I climbed aboard. After a spell we made it into the straight where the wind was ruthless and tore at our sail until a great nor'easter came down and we were capsized into Davey Jones Locker.

Greetings and Salutations. It has been awhile and I hope everyone is content with life and its quandaries. As of late I have been working a lot. Except last weekend I went and did some rock climbing and Horse back riding which was quite refreshing. Maybe I'll post some of those pictures when I get some free time (I'm supposed to be at work right now :) I feel awful about leaving for so long and feared I would be tarred, feathered and stoned upon my return.
Sunday nights are pretty much the only time available to me now.

She is house broken which was something I was worrying about. She also didnt leave my side for anything except when I went up or down stairs. It made me feel bad because my room is upstairs, so I ended up sleeping on the couch with her on the floor a few feet away on guard duty (she growled at my parents when they woke me up at 6am -good dog-). Around 8 we left my house and headed back to the shelter. When I was done there it was 9 oclock, the time my grandfather wakes up. I stopped in and he was eating breakfast so I practiced on the piano for awhile even after he left to run some errands.
I usually go to the library and catch up on some reading, mostly business magazines. My favorite place to sit is right next to the copy machine for the following reasons: The everlasting comedy of people who dont know how to use the copier and the hot librarian that always has to come over and help the distressed citizens. After the 5th copier victim my grandfather came in and read the paper then stopped over to my perch and asked if I would like to eat lunch. I ran out to my car and he jumped on his moped. The only reason he won the short race across town was because he drove the wrong way down a one way. I hate losing against old people!
After lunch I decided to do some studying at the park. There are a few of these really nice stone picnic tables right next to the nature trail. I studied Japanese for awhile when all of a sudden these arms threw themselves around me.

I pushed everything in my folder and walked the nature trail with grandma. Something you must know about the Sidney nature trail: Create a circle this is the nature trail. Now put a small square in the middle This is the Sidney Sewage plant.
Traffic was brutal on my way home.
As soon as I made it home I hooked up the wagon to the four-wheeler and went up on our mountain to split some wood. My dad had just got home from work when I made it back to the house so we unloaded the wagon and he went to take a nap while I toiled in my moss/rock garden. Dad woke up and we went up on the hill. He cut some trees down and I split some more wood.
My mom stopped by the post office on her way home from work and picked up my trees (Super Excited). Its still too cold to stick them in the ground (Its supposed to snow next week???) so we put them in some pots. Two cherry trees, two honey pear trees and two grape vines (still no fig tree yet)
Had to feed the neighborhood pets with my dad then I went to my aunts house. We played Mexican Train (dominos) and I procured a flawless victory over my aunt and uncle. The post battle left us watching a 1952 movie starring Dr. Barnaby (monkey business)
